However, while making a name for himself as a hardworking underground act, Flip’s also been known to spit with some versatility on his albums. “My whole album ain’t about ice,” he rhymed. A lawsuit has been filed against Beyonce Knowles by The Royalty Network. The suit, which also names Beyonce’s company B-Day Publishing, is taking place in a Manhattan Federal Court, over the song “I’m Kissing You.”
The song, which was originally performed by singer Desree and featured in the updated movie version of Romeo And Juliet‘, was written by Timothy Atack and Desree. The lawsuit claims that Knowles violated the copyrights of Westbury Music, which is administered by The Royalty Network. Also named in the lawsuit are Columbia Recording Corp., Sony BMG Music Entertainment and EMI April Music.
Desree is best known for her 1994 hit single “You Gotta Be.” Beyonce covered “I’m Kissing You” on the re-release of her album B’Day.

“It just encouraged me to have fun and go out and do my thing and that is what I did with the album. You can hear that through the music,” Paul Wall noted in a recent interview with Melanie Cornish on HipHopDX. He stated that this album gave him the opportunity to have fun again.
There is definitely truth in that. While many may complain that the album lacks depth or substance, it cannot be said that it lacks fun. With plenty of catchy hooks, thumping beats, witty (albeit simple) similes and his overall charismatic flow, you can’t truly knock the fun he’s having. Continue reading
